Palin shares the heart of Lincoln, The media portrays her as Bin Laden

It is a sad thing to see how the media, those whose job should be to report the news, use their position to paint things a different color than they really are. The following is a clip taken from the interview that Charlie Gibson conducted with Governor Sara Palin.

She handled it brilliantly. She was saying clearly that we need to pray that the mission our leaders are sending the military on is a godly mission. This is, of course, our responsibility as Christians.

1 Timothy 2:1 - 4

1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

Further, Deuteronomy 18:20 clearly shows that we are not to presume to speak for God for our own advantage. Rather , as Paul states in Romans 15:18, "For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me."

Yet Charlie ask her if she really believes we are on a "holy war" and questions the very idea that she believes God has a plan. (His question brings up images of the Blues Brothers "On a mission from God.")

But God does have a plan Many are, no doubt, familiar with the verse Jeremiah 29:11, "11'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope." But what is truly amazing is that this statement is made in the middle of a declaration Judgement for Israel's disobedience. God does indeed have a plan, and even when it seems the whole world is crashing down on us, we can trust that He has a plan.

Here is the full context of Governor Palin's statements to the Wasilla Assembly of God church.
